I don’t write blog posts as often as I should. Most of the time, I have no idea what to write about. I could write about a new recipe I just tried, or my latest shopping spree, or what a wild weekend I had. Honestly, when was the last time I went shopping for anything but groceries or had a wild time out? I don’t even drink boozes. If I eliminate the obvious topics (basically what everyone else is doing) or topics I simply don’t want to write about (writing tutorials, ugh) what do I have left? So I have been doing a little bit of research on what would be good content for an author’s blog, and do a blog post on the subject. I know, I know, I’m cheating here. Here is some of what I found.
Your author blog helps define your personal brand and who you are online. A blog helps your audience find you and your work, building a relationship with new readers, and excitement for established fans. As a writer, first and foremost you will need writing samples of your work for potential readers to see. (more…)
